Gingerale's Photo Gallery

Welcome to the 2005 edition of our pet photo gallery. Most of these photos were previously on the old Gingerale website in a primitive, take-all-day-to-load, space hog type of format. More updated photos of our present herd of kitties will be added as soon as they become available. The Beverly Hills Kitties have settled into their new home. Ernest T. Bass

We adopted Ernest T. from Buda in 1995, but he turned out to be just a little too old and wild to be tamed at that time. He lived with us for a few months in Austin before he decided to hit the trail. He even returned to our free soup kitchen occasionally, but he was just wild at heart.

Maynard G. Krebs

This is a classic photo of Maynard lounging on the hood of Elmer, the dark blue '85 Eurosport I loved for 160,000 miles. Maynard G. was rescued from the IRS parking lot in Austin just weeks before I met Miss Pamela. He has been the official King of the Beverly Hills Kitties ever since.

Callie

Callie was Pam's calico female kitty for sixteen years. We lost her a few years ago while we were still in Austin.

Snowball

'Ball was the brother and lifetime companion of Callie. Pam had him for many years. He died of old age not long after Callie.

Tabitha

Tabitha is of course the queen of both this website and The Beverly Hills Kitties. She is a Balinese born in October of 1990, and she is the only purebred and the only non-rescue-stray of The Beverly Hills Kitties.

Jody aka Stinky

The saddest day of our lives in Spicewood Beach was the day two dogs murdered Jody. He was a totally sweet and lovable cat. We nicknamed him Stinky soon after we adopted both him and his sister Buffy (looking on) because he would always break protocol by jumping into bed with us. Whoever was on the bed at the time would immediately leave in a huff as if Jody was stinky.

Buffy aka Buff Muff

Princess Buffy is next in line behind the queen, Tabitha. We can always tell that she misses her brother Jody.

Ginger aka Gingerale

Ginger was a beautiful, shy kitten who acted as if she had been abused by people at a very young age. Pam spent a lot of time loving her so she would not be afraid of us. Soon after she came to trust us and had developed an especially strong bond with Pam, she died in a freak accident. Her collar tags got caught in a crack in a neighbor's deck and she strangled to death. Losing Gingerale affected Pam the way the loss of Stinky affected me.

Sabrina

Sabrina was a very sweet and delicate kitten that we adopted at Spicewood Beach and took home to Austin a number of years ago. She always seemed to be ostracized by the other cats, so she stayed outside a lot. When we moved to Spicewood Beach, she seemed happier. Unfortunately she died slowly of cancer about a year later, less than 72 hours before we lost Stinky.

Gidget

Gidget was adopted as a kitten, and she grew up to be a plump and lovable cat. She decided she wanted to live with a neighbor in Austin rather than continue as one of our herd. When we left Austin about a year later, we left Gidget there. We can only hope that that is what she really wanted.

Mary Ann & Ginger

Mary Ann was adopted about the same time we got Ginger. We spotted Mary Ann as a six-week-old kitten in the median between Hwy. 281 one day while towing our boat home from Lake LBJ. She was scared out of her mind and horribly dehydrated in the 100-degree heat. We nursed her back to health, but she did not stay with us much beyond reaching adulthood. We can only surmise that she felt too wild to remain a Beverly Hills Kitty, so she ran off, much like Ernest T. had done earlier.

Rhoda

Rhoda was adopted as a kitten, along with her four brothers and sisters, at Spicewood Beach. All five had to be treated for weeks for ringworm before they could join the Beverly Hills Kitties. Rhoda had the worst case of ringworm we have ever treated, but she is a healthy kitty now.

Georgette

Georgette was the largest and friendliest of the five kittens with ringworm we adopted. More than her brothers and sisters, she wanted so much to be one of the Beverly Hills Kitties. At that time, we were not even sure we could handle five more cats in our herd, but Georgette did get her wish. Here she is in a tree in the back yard at Spicewood Beach.

Ted & Murray

Ted Baxter and Murray Slaughter are brothers and the best buddies. They look almost identical, but Ted is rather skinny and Murray is a bit plump. They survived Spicewood Beach and the ringworm with their three sisters.

Jerry & George

Jerry Seinfeld and George Castanza are also brothers and best buddies, just like Ted and Murray. These are two of the first whole litter adopted after we moved to Spicewood Beach. George is one our most lovable cats and Jerry is a pistol, as he has been since kittenhood. His nickname is Big Cow because he is the King of the Cows. (Don't ask why.)

Kramer aka Powduh Puff

Kramer is our most popular cat with all the other Beverly Hills Kitties. They all seem to love him. They cuddle with him whenever they can, and they follow him around wherever he goes. I call it his entourage.

Sue Ann

Sue Ann is a very independent cat, much like Gidget, except Sue Ann has chosen to remain one of the Beverly Hills Kitties. Here she takes a nap after exhausting herself with a couple of Christmas bows.

Cotton aka Huckleberry (Hound Dog)

Pam had this Bichon Frise spoiled completely rotten by the time I met her. We eventually coaxed Huckleberry into being a respectable foo-foo dog. She unfortunately died just a few months before we moved to Spicewood Beach. This was particularly sad because she loved that location where she could run around in the yard. We could never let her out in Austin because she would head right for the busy street. Pam had her seven years.

Whiskas

Whiskas Wabbit was born in our living room in Austin. He lived with us for several years until soon after we moved to Spicewood Beach. The black bunny on the left is one of his two sisters.

The Monster

One of Pam's old friends sent us this photo. Is that the biggest cat you have ever seen, or what!!??
